Lee and Christy

We got up super early to catch the sunrise and beautiful morning light for our engagement session with Lee and Christy. We met for a quick bite of breakfast and our daily dose of caffeine before loading all of our gear on the boat. We chugged along in their boat until reaching the exact spot where Lee proposed several months earlier. It was dark and foggy but it wasn't long until we saw the first light coming over the tree line. We all laughed and told our story about the last time we saw a sunrise (some longer than others ha). It wasn't long until we had enough light to start shooting. We had a wonderful time and wanted to share some of the images we shot.

We have been so busy lately that we haven't been able to post often. We are working hard to get caught up and post more frequently. We shot an engagement session for Justin and Veronica this weekend. Both of them are awesome and kept us laughing the entire shoot.

Mari's Bridals

We shot Mari's bridals this week and had a wonderful time with her and her mom.  We were able to go to several great locations and got some awesome shots.  Her gown and birdcage veil are so fashionable and made for some really great photographs!!

Haleigh and Cooper

We finished our busy weekend with an engagement session with Haleigh and Cooper. We thought we were going to be rained out but at the last minute, the sun popped out and we began shooting. We shot at several different locations and finished the day at an old school house. Not much left of the school house but one big room. We wanted to do something different with an artistic flare in the school house. Lots of texture in the old walls and floor. We mixed the light using our strobes and the natural light coming in from the windows.

Fashion Shoot

We shot several of Christy's Trendsetters from Christy's Boutique yesterday morning. Our newest addition to the J Franks creative team Haleigh Boothe, did hair and makeup. We always have a really good time doing these shoots and Christy allows us to let our creative juices flow on the lighting and makeup for the shoot.

Boudoir

We have been asked by several brides in the past about doing boudoir photos to give to their fiancee on their wedding day. We were very hesitant about doing this type of photography because we live in the South and most people here are very conservative. However, after much debate we decided to offer this to our clients but in a very controlled way.

We don't want our client to feel uncomfortable in any way during the shoot. We make sure privacy is a premium during the shoot and afterwards. We will never post any of the images publicly that we shoot during a boudoir shoot unless you ask us to. We have found that most people love the pictures and post them on social media sites to show their friends.

We lay the images out in an album so our client can give them as a gift or to just simply keep for themselves. The album is stunning to say the least! The cover is made of crocodile that is dyed bright red and the interior is black velvet. We have a professional stylist do hair and makeup before the shoot and continue to do touch ups for the duration of the shoot.

We shot these images of Jennifer in our studio. She loved them and told us to use them on our website or blog so that we could show other girls a sample of what we do. (Again, we don't do this unless you specifically ask us to.) She posted a few of these on Facebook and the last I heard it was over 100 likes and comments and that was just the second day after she posted them.

As I mentioned earlier, we live in the South and OUR conservative views nearly kept us from doing this type shoot. We realize now that we were wrong about this and should of offered this earlier. Our clients LOVE these shoots and everyone that we have shot have asked to do another session.

Athlete Shoot

We recently had an early morning shoot with Tim.  We wanted to use the shadows to emphasize his muscle definition and create mood. It turned out great!
